Gender based violence – Fiona Drouet discusses her daughter Emily’s suicide.

West College Scotland would like to extend a warm welcome to Fiona Drouet who will be coming into the College to discuss her daughters Emily’s Suicide.

Emily tragically committed suicide in 2016 after enduring emotional, sexual and physical abuse by her then boy friend, whilst studying at Aberdeen University.  Since then Emily’s mum Fiona has been running the Emily Test campaign.  This campaign highlights Gender Based violence and educates staff and student’s about the signs that someone may be experiencing gender based violence.

The talks will take place across the 3 campuses 11am-12pm on:

25 November – Greenock, Ambition Restaurant

9 December – Clydebank, Cunard Suite.

Please note the 25 November is a College Curriculum and Development Day. Students are not in college, but are welcome to come along  if they wish.
