A fourth day of national strike action by the EIS is due to take place on Thursday, 21 March.
The EIS union and college employers are due to meet early next week to try to resolve this national dispute and avoid another strike day. In the meantime, to give our students as much notice as possible of potential disruption, the College is issuing the following advice.
As on other strike days, the College will open next Thursday but classes will not run unless your lecturers have specifically told you to attend. You do not have to attend College on this day but libraries, refectories and nurseries will be open.
You do not need to self-certificate if your class is cancelled because of strike action. Arrangements are in place to ensure there is no impact on student payments. You will receive your support payments, as usual, whether or not you attend on 21 March.
The College will keep you up to date of any changes to these arrangements via the Student Intranet, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter) and the West College Scotland Students’ Association’s Facebook page.
