West College Scotland is proud to support Glow Gold this September for Childhood Cancer Support.
Established by a group of parents of children with cancer, many of whom who have sadly lost their child to this awful disease, aim is to ensure GOLD becomes the synonymous with childhood cancer.
Unable to change the affects cancer has had on them and their children they want to make a difference for you and yours. The aim being that with increased awareness of childhood cancer, comes greater awareness of the early signs and symptoms, earlier diagnosis, increased funding, increased research, kinder more targeted therapy and ultimately a change in the prognosis for kids diagnosed with childhood cancer.
Throughout September representatives from the charity will be visiting the College to raise awareness amongst staff and students.
So how can we support the campaign?
We can spread the word throughout the College, make donations and maybe even host a charity event such as a tombola or bake-sale to raise funds and awareness. Or if your department or students already have an event organised and are looking for a charity to support then they could consider Childhood Cancer Support.
Early detection can be lifesaving. Educate yourself on the signs of childhood cancer.
